Animal Assisted Therapy
Trained for Clients with Special Needs
As a Pet Therapy Consultant, together we can determine which behaviors you are interested in and how the selected feline can help your clients reach their therapeutic goals. I work with Therapists and other Health Care providers to achieve your goals pooling the knowledge of animal behavior and how to facilitate bonding with a kitten to support the medical and psychological professionals to help an individual. I am willing to understand as much information about an individual's needs and honor all HIPPA privacy agreements.
If it is in the best interest of the client, I am willing to come to their home so we can learn what we should teach the kitten together. I am willing to return to help reinforce the behavior. Also, I prepare information that explains the special training that directly involves the child or new companion owner.
Flame Point Cat kittens receive unique training to be gentle and social. They are familiar with wheelchairs and other medical devices. Some some examples of how a person who struggles with speech or vision will benefit from my training are that all kittens come to hand signals and to respond to certain sounds, such as a rattle. The gentle and social disposition of your kitten is guaranteed.

40 "IS YOUR CAT A THERAPY PET?" "Mary Burkwit, a breeder in Rochester, N.Y., places many of her Flame Point Himalayan cats with patients in animal-assisted therapy programs. She tells the story of a Schizophrenic client who received one of her cats and came to think that the cat not only could see the squirrels she believed raced across her bed nightly but also chased them away. The client believed her cat understood her schizophrenia, and this newfound understanding helped her so much that her doctor was able to reduce her medication dosage."
